Cartoons, Creativity and Communication

Doodling is a fine example of the use of creative thinking to illustrate, tell a joke, satirise, caricature, entertain or to tell a story.

You can see a different perception of the world through the eyes of the Doodler. I have been inspired to encapsulate all aspects of Business, Marketing and Social Media through my drawings - from the serious to the humorous, and from the normal to more current things about our new digital era.

Cartoons appeal to the right-side of the brain, and their fun nature opens up our minds making them more receptive. I hope you enjoy my Doodles so far. Do come back as I'll be adding new ones regularly. 

The inspiration for this drawing came from the heading "How to catch Big Fish with Small Talk

on Twitter" I used on one of the posts I made on the HB Business Forum. Each day, for a week
I covered one an aspect of Social Media (i.e. Planning your Social Media Journey, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest, Do's & Don'ts and Coping with Change in Social Media. Twitter is

Tangerine Orange was 2012 Pantone's colour of the year. The colour psychology of orange is optimistic, energetic and uplifting - rejuvenating our spirit. It relates to Social Communication, stimulating two way conversations. A warm inviting colour, it's both physically and mentally stimulating, so it gets people thinking and talking - which is what we like and what will stay! 

The new black for Twenty Thirteen is Emerald Green. It's lively, radiant and lush - a colour of elegance & beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony. It's going to be a good year. Read my Blog on other Social Media Trends & Predictions for 2013  ~ irma

Pinterest is a visual social network that came out of nowhere and has everyone talking. This drawing was inspired by my thoughts on how creative geniuses could be pinning all their ideas and inspirations if they were alive today. Read my first of a series of Blogs on Pinterest. ~ irma

Once upon a time we used to go to Libraries and Bookstores . . . now we have become
FACE-BOOKWORMS and go to Amazon and after 38 years Encyclopedia Britannica has finally stopped it's presses. A sad thought as I realize I spend more time reading from the screen or my iPad. ~ irma

When I sketched this . . .  I was dabbling in and thinking about how Google+ fitted into my 'Social Media Marketing Mix'. Now I feel I should sketch in another road & road sign saying 'WAY TO PINTEREST PARADISE'  ~ irma

I share my Birthday with the birth of the New Year - yep on New Years . I love this time of year - a time of Reflection and new Resolutions   . . . and of course some Celebration!  ~ irma

Over Xmas I thought about the increase in expectations of what a good Xmas gift is.

I love my job and spend many hours behind a computer designing, building websites 
and managing Social Media for businesses . I was surprised at the amount of comments 
I received from my 'peeps & fans' that can relate to the need to unplug & have a 'digital detox' every now and again.  ~ irma

I heard this quote at a Networking Business Breakfast I attend at 6:45am every Tuesday morning. I could relate to the speed at which the end of 2011 was approaching and 
put pen to paper. Btw . . . this doesn't mean that 2011 was a 'crappy' year, on the contrary! ~ irma
